As his career progresses in the league, the burly 6-5 center is getting better every year. After snaring the Most Improved Player award in his sophomore year, he was the MVP of the Fiesta Conference and earned a spot in the Mythical Five to cement his star status in the league.
Villanueva averaged 12.9 points and 8 rebounds in 67 games last season and his 1.3 blocks a night was fourth-best among locals. The 26-year-old banger had the highest average in minutes played with 30.4 per game, a proof that coach Yeng Guiao trusted this former Ateneo de Manila University standout. Many SMB fans will surely put away their hatred with this man and take him as a part of the improved MBM. He will help a lot this time due to the absense of Dorian Pena. I don't know if he will the Raging Beermen this time.
